What is this course?

The Certified Scrum Professional® - ScrumMaster (CSP-SM®) is for practicing ScrumMasters and Agile Coaches with 2 years’ experience and those who have already attained the Scrum Alliance Advanced Certified ScrumMaster™ (A-CSM™) qualification. It is part of the Scrum Alliances Agile Coaching Pathway; this step in the journey is a combination of workshop, applied learning on the job and reflection.

This programme is aimed at practicing ScrumMasters and Agile Coaches, allowing them to grow skills such as facilitation and coaching, and build knowledge to better serve Development Teams, Product Owners and the wider organisation.  It focuses on growing you as organisational change agents and will further deepen your coaching and facilitation skills.

The workshop builds on a combination of interactive exercises, practical real-life examples, and lively discussion and will equip you with the knowledge required to be a professional ScrumMaster.  However, the real learning happens through application and reflection, so after the workshop in order to achieve the CSP-SM® there is an applied practice and written reflection element.  Through the written reflections you will demonstrate that you meet the learning objectives for the Certified Scrum Professional®

On completion of the programme and validation with your coach that you have met the learning objectives, you will become a CSP-SM®.

Each delegate will receive one complimentary 1 to 1 coaching session; further coaching support may also help enhance the learning experience.

Venue:   Live online

The live online courses will be delivered over Zoom video conferencing, all you will need is a computer, internet connection and to situate yourself somewhere quiet.

A headset with mic would be advisable, though not essential.

Theses courses will be delivered in small groups (3 or 4 people) and will break out into virtual rooms for any group discussion and group exercises on key topics. We ensure there is a balance of experience across the groups in order to share experiences, as we find delegates learn as much off each other as they  do from the trainer.

We have tried to maintain as much of the interactive nature of our in-person training when transferring courses online.  Whilst the lack of physicality limits what we can do, a number of the exercises do transfer.

  • Trainer: Mark Summers

Mark Summers believes happiness always comes first. As a leading figure in the growth of agile coaching, experience has taught him that if a team is having fun, it will perform far better.

When he was a developer, Mark loved solving tech problems and creating world class software solutions. As a Certified Scrum Trainer and Certified Enterprise Coach, he finds it even more satisfying to help people solve their own problems and create world class teams. He was one of the UK’s first agile coaches and today is a leading figure in the ongoing story of agile training and coaching, a speaker at conferences, a leader of retreats, and a coach who never stops reflecting and evolving. If you’re an agent of change, he believes you have to be on a continuous learning journey yourself.

For Mark, enjoyment isn’t an optional extra – that’s where businesses go wrong. He believes that the organisation of the future will be driven by self-organising, self-motivated teams and facilitated by manager-coaches rather than led by traditional dictator-managers. Mark sees his work – coaching teams, leadership and organisations in their move to agility – as part of a bigger shift in society.

Uncompromisingly honest with himself, energising and thought-provoking as a coach, Mark is 100% committed to helping people succeed by becoming happier, more open and more autonomous as individuals and as teams.
